And we’re thrilled to have found a replacement! Take a look…

New Barn for Horse Rescue

Problem is… we NEED FUNDING to relocate and build this barn!!

[soliloquy id=”1238″]

For the past two years, the neighboring ranch has allowed us use of their big red barn for our rescue operation. But now, they have decided to sell their property. This means we are losing a much needed structure for housing, exercising and treating our horses.

Until we can build a barn of own, all the horses have been moved back to my ranch. As of this writing, 36 horses are under our care.

Besides the need for a new barn, we still need a roof for the 5-stall barn that was blown off in a micro burst this past May. So now, with the loss of the neighboring barn, we are forced to double up horses in small pens, plus we’ve added some temporary fencing.Barn Fund for Dust Devil Ranch Sanctuary for Horses

The horses need to be out of their pens most of the time, but since there is only one pasture open, it’s necessary to alternate them in and out of pens so that they get adequate exercise.

They also require shade to protect them from the hot sun, and shelter from the wind and rain. This means that in addition to a barn, we need lots of trees.

Good weather is in our favor right now … but we only have a few short months before it turns bad again. And when it does, the horses will need far better protection and living conditions.

The barn we have chosen will suit both our current and future needs. It is a properly equipped structure that can expand and grow with us, because rescue is unpredictable – you never know what will happen. The Elsa and Anna story is a prime example of this.

I will pledge $50.00. I can get it to you Ginger, I have had so much trouble with my debit card being compromised over the net.
